Upper Darby Summer Stage Family Friendly Theater

You guys all know about Upper Darby Summer Stage, right?

Well, if not it's high time to get to know it because Upper Darby Summer Stage is in full swing with wonderful family friendly musicals and plays for kids and families this summer.

Remaining shows in the 2012 season include Annie (runs Aug 1-3),  Hairspray (Aug 3-4, 10-11), How I Became a Pirate (Aug 8-10) and A Disney Spectacular! (Aug. 15-17). The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center where the summer stage shows are held is just minutes from Center City and the Main Line. It offers free parking, a modern air conditioned theater, and a professional venue for a variety of performances. Each year more than 50,000 audience members travel from all areas of the Delaware Valley, from Chester, Bucks, Montgomery and Delaware Counties as well as Philadelphia and New Jersey for more than 80 performances at The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. Seating 1,650, the center is an exceptional performance facility ideally suited to musical, dance and theatrical productions. Its uniqueness is further accented by its diverse programs and an involvement by people of all ages that is a model for communities across the nation.

These great family friendly shows are perfect for introducing little ones to live theater and are geared for ages 4-5 and up. Shows are generally 60-75 minutes in length so not too taxing for short attention spans. (Note: Hairspray is the exception and is geared for ages 12 and up and runs 2 hours.Ticket prices are affordable and run $6 - $9 per seat depending on section.
