Weekend Phillyfun Picks: Sept. 28th - Sept. 30th

September has pretty much come and gone and just like that we’re approaching October and the real months of fall and even the holiday season soon! Enjoy this last beautiful weekend of September with one of these great family fun activities in Philadelphia.

PNC Arts Alive Family Day at the Opera Company of Philadelphia

PNC and The Philadelphia Opera Company present the PNC Arts Alive FREE Family Day at the Opera this Saturday September 29th from 10am -1pm. This free fun-filled event features an exciting day of programming for kids grades K-5 and the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Opera Company’s productions and lean the joys of opera. Registration either online in advance or in person is required.

Fall Family Fun Day featuring the Kisses for Kyle Fun Walk

Peddler’s Village in beautiful Bucks County is host to the annual Fall Family Fun Day featuring the Kisses for Kyle Fun Walk this Saturday September 29th from 10am – 5pm. This free event will feature a family fun walk at 10am (registration begins at 8am) with live entertainment food, fun and more to enjoy as you walk. Each child ages 12 and under will also get a free pass to enjoy Giggleberry Fair. And in the evening check out the outdoor movie screening of The Lorax at 7;30pm at Giggleberry Fair.

Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day

Enjoy free admission to 20 Philadelphia museums including the Fireman’s Hall Museum, National Constitution Center, Penn Museum, Academy of Natural Science, and others to celebrate Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day this Saturday September 29th. You must get a ticket for free admission by registering online at the Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day website in advance.

The Go West! Craft Fest features over 50 of the Philly region's most inventive vendors of original arts & crafts, plus live music, food and family-friendly fun. It's all at the Woodlands in West Philly, 40th & Woodland (across from the main trolley portal) on Saturday, September 29 (rain date September 30) from 11am - 5pm. And, BONUS our good friend Jay Sand from All Around This World Music will be taking the stage at 2pm - don't miss it! Free.

It’s an Oktoberfest the whole family can enjoy in Ardmore this Saturday September 29th starting at 12pm. Come our for live entertainment featuring an Oompah band playing traditional German music from 4-8pm, children’s face painting, games, caricatures and other great fall fun. Free.


Pumpkinland Harvest Festival

It’s time for the Pumpkinland Harvest Festival taking place at Linvilla Orchards this Friday September 28th through Sunday September 30th in Media, PA. Take the whole family along for a day of pumpkin picking, hayrdies, pick your own apples, the corn maze, and other great fun to get you ready for fall. Free. Some attractions ticketed.

Head to the Valley Forge Marketplace this Saturday September 29th from 11am – 3pm for the Family Fun Day and Car, Bike, and Truck show featuring streets rods, muscle cars, class and antique cars, motorcycles and more. And if the trucks aren’t your thing there are lots of other family friendly activities such as a moonbounce and other inflatables, glitter tattoos, balloon art, food music, prizes and more. Free. All proceeds to benefit the Norriton Police Association.


263 Marketplace Carnival

The 263 Marketplace Carnival takes place this weekend running Friday September 28th through Sunday September 30th and features thrill rides, food, games, fun and more. Plus check out the indoor shoppers village while you’re there featuring clothes, jewelry, antiques and something for everyone. Carnival admission is free. Rides are ticketed. Hours: Friday Gates open at 6pm; Saturday and Sunday gates open at 12 Noon.


Mercer County Italian American Festival

The Mercer County Italian American Festival runs Friday September 27th through Sunday September 30th at the Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ. The festival features a food piazza with more than 40 vendors, music and entertainment on two stages, wine and beer gardens, kids rides and activities, and an Italian American Market tent selling traditional and modern Italian fare. Plus enjoy a cultural theater with guest speakers and cooking demonstrations, too. Free parking. Rain or shine. $3, ages 12 and younger are free. 

Pumpkin Palooza 
Saturday Sept. 29th - Sunday Sept. 30th
Garden State Discovery Museum

The Garden State Discovery Museum and Springdale Farms are teaming up again to hold the annual Pumpkin Palooza this Saturday Sept. 29th and Sunday Sept. 30th starting at 11am. Come out for beautiful hayrides, a run through the corn maze, live animals plus of course pumpkin picking, pumpkin decorating and lots more. $15.
Baby Loves Disco Comes Home!

Baby Loves Disco returns to Philadelphia this Sunday September 30th at 12pm. Bring the kiddos to Shampoo Nightclub for an afternoon of dancing and family fun with tunes from DJ Samson and DJ Scribe and hosted by MC Flipside serving up the healthy snacks and the bottomless juice boxes for the wee ones. Plus, enjoy arts and crafts, a fun family photo booth and other entertainment and excitement including mini-manis and more. $20 per person or $60 for 4.
