Happy Chinese New Year

Gong Hay Fat Choy!! Happy Year of the Horse!!

It's Chinese New Year and that means celebrating the year of the horse! All week in Philly's vibrant Chinatown there will be celebrations and activities that families can participate in to celebrate!

On Thursday January 30th, there will be the annual Midnight Lion Dance Performance starting at 11:30pm.

If midnight activities aren't the norm in your household (and they sure aren't in mine!) be sure to catch the more family friendly Lion Dance Parade by The Philadelphia Suns on Sunday February 2nd from 11am - 2pm.

For the full line up of all Chinese New Year activities including special Chinese New Year banquets, the Chinatown Flower Market, and much more check out the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation's list of Chinese New Year 2014 events.

  1. We celebrate Chinese New Year every year! We are not Chinese, but LOVE the holiday because it's so cool. :-) Thanks for the info!

  2. I will have to check out the activities. My family went to the Penn Museum last weekend for the celebration and had a great time

  3. Seriously, after checking out all of these pictures, I wish I was there! The Penn Museum looks like it is doing great things! How fun!
