On Saturday my family and I had the privilege to go check out the Disney Junior Live on Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure! show and it was so much fun!!! It was in Philly for one day only at the Liacouras Center and we got to check out the 7pm show. We got inside and found our seats (after picking up some light-up spinning souvenirs, of course) and were all so excited for the show to start. About 10 minutes before show time DocMcStuffins came out and did a little pre-show clinic which was really cute and kept the kids excited and engaged before the show even got started. And after she worked her toy fixing magic we all got to sing along “I feel better, so much better, thank you Doc for taking all my ouchies away!”
Then at 7pm, the show started with Mickey and Minnie Mouse coming out off from the side of the stage and I’m not too proud to admit that I audibly gasped with excitement!! I mean – come on – where else can you see Mickey and Minnie except in the Disney Parks right?? So to have them just walk out on the floor mere feet away from you was such a fun and exciting way to start the show!
It then opened up with a sequence about Sofia the First and featured her entire royal family including her parents, James and Amber and even Baileywick! At one point Sofia is not sure what to give her friends and her magical Amulet connects her to all the princesses and Cinderella shows up which of course my two girls just loved! The whole first half was really high energy and fun and had great costumes, sets, and of course – songs.
There was a brief intermission (toward the end of what was maybe 15-20 minutes or so max) there were even pirates that came out to take photos and mingle with the kids. This really helped break up the intermission especially since it was getting to be past bedtime for many of the kids in the audience for sure.
The second half of the show was all about Jake and the Neverland Pirates and featured Jake (of course) as well as Izzy, Cubby, and Scully as well as Captain Hook, Smee, and the crew and even Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle too!
Jake and the gang battle with Captain Hook to unlock treasure hidden inside a mysterious volcano with the help of Peter Pan and even Tink! It’s a rollicking good time with great songs and high seas chase scenes and high jinx and really great use of the interactive screen on the stage to make it feel like the crew and the audience are right there with the gang on the Never Seas!
Disney Junior Live on Tour Pirate & Princess Adventure was so much fun! My whole family loved the show! Once again Disney and Feld Entertainment do it again and bring a truly magical Disney experience to families! Thanks for a great time!
