A beautiful summer weekend is ahead and lots to do in our great city. There’s everything from Mary Poppins Sing-alongs to peach festivals, the PA Dutch Festival and more so get out and enjoy one of these fun family events this weekend!
Celebrate the traditions foods and crafts of the Pennsylvania Dutch at the 25th annual Dutch Festival happening at Saturday August 9th from 8am – 5pm at Reading Terminal Market. Come out to try delicious homemade ice cream, Pennsylvania Dutch sausages, apple dumplings, funnel cakes, and lots more. Free.
Get Pop-Cultured this Saturday August 9th at 1pm at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Day at participating Barnes and Noble bookstores including Rittenhouse Square with a Ninja Turtles themed day featuring a martial arts demonstration, meet and greet with Raphael and April and storytime and crafts too and lots more. Free.
It’s a celebration of peaches, pirates and princesses this weekend at the Camden Children’s Garden! Celebrate Jersey’s favorite summer fruit with special crafts, a treasure hunt, and a planting activity. And kids are invited to dress in their favorite Princess and Pirate costumes for special themed crafts. Special live performances both days featuring Snow White on Saturday and classical scores for families on Sunday. $6, free for kids 2 and younger.
Families can explore, create and play all summer long with the new Art Splash program running Friday August 8th – Sunday August 10th. Kids and families get to “Meet the Masterpieces” all summer long as ten treasures from the museum’s collection are featured and come to life through play and hands-on activities. Museum admission for kids 12 and under is always free. Adult admission $23.50.

The annual Peach Festival is taking place this Saturday August 9th at Linvilla Orchards in Media PA. Come out for live music, special meet and greets with favorite characters, peach themed crafts and activities, a hula hoop contest and more. Free. Some attractions ticketed.
Enjoy free admission to the beautiful Brandywine River Museum on Sunday mornings including this Sunday August 10th between 9:30am – 12pm. Free.
Head to Riverbend Education Center in Gladwyne on Sunday August 10th from 3pm – 5pm to celebrate National S’mores Day with a fun family nature exploration and campfire complete with s’mores toasting. Donations welcome.

Kids will learn all about The Principles of Hip Hop at The Free Library of Philadelphia’s Sundays on Stage program on Sunday August 10th at 2pm at the Vine Street Main Branch. Using dance, interactive lecture and interactive audience participation, Hip Hop Fundamentals dancers will work with kids of all ages to inspire and entertain. Free.

Don’t miss the PECO Family Jams family program at the Philadelphia Magic Gardens on Sunday August 10th between 12 Noon and 4pm.
