Last weekend of March already? Where did this month go? Lots of fun to be had this weekend in and around Philly including Sound All Around with The Philadelphia Orchestra, the final weekend of Dinosaurs Unearthed at the Academy of Natural Sciences, and much more!

Family Fun Fishing Derby

Make memories with the kids as you help them reel in their first catch at the Family Fun Fishing Derby at Linvilla Orchards this Saturday March 29th from 9am – 2pm. Orchard Lake will be stocked with over 1,000 trout so everyone will have a great fishing day. $19.99 per fisher.

The Philadelphia Orchestra presents Sound All Around: Ensemble on Saturday March 29th at 10am. This interactive program gives children the opportunity to interact with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra and award-winning storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston as they learn about ensembles and move to the music while pretending to plan and instrument and examining real instruments up close. The Sound All Around concerts are 45 minutes in length and are a great way for kids and families to have fun with music. Tickets $10.

Linvilla Orchards indoor mini-golf attraction FORE! The Planet Indoor Mini Golf continues this weekend Friday March 28th through Sunday March 30th offering 18 holes of serious fun. This highly interactive and playful exhibit is open daily from 9am – 5pm and features info on environmental issues paired with the kid favorite fun of mini-golf. $6.95 for ages 11 and older. $4.95 for ages 10 and under.

Dinosaurs Unearthed

Families will enjoy roaring, moving, life-size animatronic dinosaurs inside the Academy of Natural Sciences in this multi-sensory experience for dino lovers of all ages. $3 for members, $5 for non-members plus general admission to the museum ($15 for adults, $13 for kids under 13).

Pink, I said! Pink Pink Pink! Pinkalicous, the Musical is now running at the Walnut Street Theater starting Saturday March 29th with shows at 10:30am and 3:30pm. Children will love the live musical version of this modern classic by Elizabeth & Victoria Kann about the little girl who turned pink and how she got her color back by swearing off the pink cupcakes (at least for now!). Tickets $20.25.

Weekend Phillyfun Picks: Feb. 7-9

February is in full swing and love is in the air this month! Lots of Valentine’s fun to be had in Philly this weekend with plenty of Valentine’s Card making, a chocolate festival and more. Plus it’s African American History Month with lots to explore and celebrate in our city. And the wintery fun continues with the ice skating at the Piazza at Schmidt’s and the Disney Frozen Sing-Along too!

The PNC Arts Alive sponsored family program Sound All Around continues this Saturday February 8th with Sound All Around Brass featuring and interactive concert with The Philadelphia Orchestra and award-winning storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston. Concerts are 45 minutes long and a perfect way for kids and families to have fun while learning about music. Tickets $10. 

Disney Frozen Sing-Along

Disney’s smash hit two-time Oscar nominated Frozen continues in theaters in its new Frozen Sing-Along format this Friday February 7th through Sunday February 9th. Kids of all ages can “Let it Go” and sing along to the bouncing snowflake. Should be a fantastic time for families! Check website for theaters, showtimes and tickets.
