Don’t miss the annual Butterfly Festival happening at Tyler Arboretum this Saturday August 23rd from 10am – 2pm. Visit the Tyler Butterfly House to see live butterflies in all stages of their life-cycle. Get up close with plants that attract our fluttering friends and watch monarch tagging demonstrations (every 30 minutes starting at 10:30am) Learn about garden insects and enjoy the secret life of bees with the bee-keeping exhibit. It’s the return of the annual Tomato & Pear Festival at Linvilla Orchards this Saturday August 23rd from 8am – 5pm. Enjoy a fun-filled and educational day with pick-your own experiences, live music, visits with costumed characters, tomato tasting, a juggling jester and the Radio Disney Road Crew, too. Free.
There’s something for everyone at the Chocolate & Vanilla Festival at the Camden Children’s Garden this Saturday August 23rd and Sunday August 24th from 1-4pm. Vote for your favorite ice cream flavor, take a tropical smell test, enjoy make and take crafts and educational activities and more! $6. Free for kids 2 and younger.
Families explore, create and play all summer long with the Art-Splash program offered at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Enjoy this second to last weekend of Art Splash fun running this weekend Friday August 22nd – Sunday August 24th featuring Medieval Works. Kids and families get to “Meet the Masterpieces” as treasures from the museum’s collection are featured and come to life through play and hands-on activities. Museum admission for kids 12 and under is always free. Adult admission $23.50.
