Science in the Summer
The Free Library of Philadelphia has teamed up with GSK to offer Science in the Summer: Physics/Simple Machines free science workshops for kids in grades 2-6.
The Upper Darby Summer Stage offers fantastic family-friendly theater all summer long with a new show each week for six weeks! Tickets are just $7-$10.

Wawa Welcome America Festival takes place June 28 – July 4 this year with lots of free family fun for all including:

The Camden Waterfront Freedom Festival celebrates freedom with four days of fun on the beautiful Camden waterfront. The festival features live music, BBQs, fireworks and more including: Patriotic celebrations throughout the week including military vehicle displays, giant games, food trucks, giveaways and more. Paddle Penn’s Landing
Get up close and personal with the Delaware River Waterfront like never before in the Paddle Penn’s Landing program that runs through summer offering kayaks and swan boats to rent for a relaxing and hands-on way to explore the river. Swan boats are $9 a person and Kayaks are $8 per person.
Michael’s Passport to Imagination – Museum Road Trip
Michael’s is once again offering the Passport to Imagination program for summer 2014. Kids get t0 explore national museums as they go “on the road.” Participating Michaels offer 2 hour crafting adventures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (with a different in-store craft each day) from 10am – 12pm for just $2 per session (ages 5 and up).
If your kids are a bit older, check out the free 3-Day Apple Camp this summer where kids ages 8-12 get to learn how to shoot video, create an original song in garage band on the iPad, and then put it all together to make an original movie which will be featured at the Apple Camp Film Festival.
