Last weekend before Christmas and the start of Hanukkah too! Lots to do in Philly this weekend to celebrate the festive time of year and the holidays with families.

A Longwood Christmas

The Longwood Christmas display is inspired by the contours of traditional holiday favorites like ribbons and colorful confectionery, and by the figures of nature from pine cones to snowflakes. Outdoors amidst the grounds at Longwood, you can stroll among illuminated trees, glowing orbs, and a shimmering tunnel of lights. Enjoy this fantastic light display choreographed to music in the main Fountain Garden and by the lake. $25 adults, $13 kids.

Old City Menorah Lighting

Head to Rittenhouse Square on the first night of Hanukkah to help light the park’s giant menorah during a community-focused celebration in the park. Free.

Holiday Bricktacular

The ultimate indoor LEGO playground is transforming into a winter wonderland during Holiday Bricktacular complete with themed workshops, magical LEGO creations, and a LEGO Santa. Festivities include: a Winter Wonderful MINILAND: A LEGO replica of Philadelphia transformed into a winter wonderland; a scavenger hunt to spot the new wintery wonders; Ho Ho WOAH!: Kids can meet festive LEGO characters and take a selfie with LEGO Santa in his sleigh; festive LEGO Builds and much more! Holiday Light Show

The newly updated Fashion District retail and entertainment space debuts a brand new light show boasting a 45-foot-tall floating tree with giant stainless steel mirror ornaments and a light show timed to music by the Philly Pops. The five-minute show runs every 30 minutes. Free.

Holiday Festival and Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show
Friday Dec. 20 – Sunday Dec. 22
Franklin Square
6th and Race Streets
Philadelphia, PA

Enjoy the Holiday Festival and Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show at Franklin Square this season. In addition to the Parx Liberty Carousel and Philly Mini Golf, holiday entertainment includes train rides around the square, Santa Saturdays, Seasonal Sounds on Sundays and much more. Kids are invited to bring their letters to Santa for the Santa Mailbox, or deliver them in person to him on Santa Saturdays. Free entrance. Some attractions ticketed.

Candytopia

Families will enjoy Candytopia – an interactive art installation celebrating the vibrant colors and flavors of favorite sugary delights across over a dozen environments, from flying unicorn pigs to a marshmallow tsunami. More than one dozen rooms have larger-than-life interactive art installations and full sensory experiences. $20-$28.

Festival of Lights

Dozens of decorated lit trees and festive displays at Rose Tree Park in Media draw visitors back each year to stroll the glimmering walkways and grounds, linger in the festive atmosphere, and pay a visit to childhood figures such as Charlie Brown & the Peanuts gang and Santa & his reindeer. Free.
